About the Captain

My fishing career began 28 years ago fishing with my dad from a 12' aluminum boat with a 3 hp Evinrude.  During those days, I was too young to be throwing heavy musky baits. Instead, I sat in the front of the boat and watched my dad cast endlessly for muskies as I soaked a chub or a sucker below a bobber waiting for something exciting to happen.  I owe most of my fishing knowledge and experiences to my Dad.  He got me into fishing at a young age, and my love and passion for the sport grew as I got older.

Fast forward a few years and I was finally old enough to start casting for muskies.  I was lucky that my dad worked as a teacher and had summers off.  Not to mention that I had such an understanding mother who let us go fishing almost all the time.  We would fish just about every day during the summer for perch, walleyes, small mouth bass, crappies, and, of course, muskies.   From an early age I was partial to muskies and I'm not sure why because we never seemed to boat more than 1 or 2 fish in a day and there were a lot of days we got skunked. My dad would always tell me I was holding my lip wrong or that my next cast was my 10,000th and that I was going to catch a fish.  It didn't really matter, it was more about the experience spending time together and being on the water, the fish were just a bonus.

As I grew older my passion for fishing also grew.  I did just about anything to create time so I could get on the water pursuing muskies.  Every year my dad and I would take numerous trips to Northern Wisconsin musky fishing.  We explored new lakes, tried new techniques, and just enjoyed the sport.  In 28 years of fishing, I have learned so many things, not only about fishing, but about the person I am and the drive I have to succeed no matter what the task.  One of my greatest fishing accomplishments came last year when my fishing partner and friend Josh Ebli and I won the Best of the Best Musky tournament in Green Bay, WI.  It was tremendous feat and was quite an accomplishment as it was the first tournament he and I fished together.

With the support of my wife, I decided to make my dream a reality and built a business in which I can educate and teach people what fishing is about,  similar to how my Dad taught me years ago.  In my eyes there is nothing better than seeing the excitement on someone's face when they catch their first or personal best fish.  That experience is what drives me to be the best possible guide I can and provide the best possible experience for each and every one of my clients.
